Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances are a group of more than 4,000 synthetic compounds engineered for extreme chemical resistance — which also makes them persistent in both the environment and the human body. Widely detected in Australian tap water, PFAS are targeted by Kiiyo's specialised ion-exchange media, which intercepts these compounds at a molecular level where conventional carbon alone may fall short.
